ABSTRACT
In the Brāhmaṇas and Sūtras, there are many references to chariots, particularly in relation to ceremonials like Vājapeya, Rājasūya and Aśvamedha sacrifices. It appears that by now, the chariot had evolved from a war machine and means of transport into an esoteric adorable object.
