ABSTRACT
This chapter is another narrative account of a lead role experience in a play by one of the authors. The character analysis proposed here had been fully developed at this time, and it was relied on as a primary technique to guide character development. The chapter recounts how the method was applied and how the performance and production were impacted, therefore serving as a compelling application and illustration. Once again reinforcing the ideas presented in Chapter 5, this chapter focuses on how the metaphors of machine, organism, and culture, along with relevant questions and prompts, were applied to encourage consideration of character and overall action. The discussion includes consideration of the value, as well as some challenges, in applying this method.
