ABSTRACT

Science Communication in a Crisis is centered around the ten principal challenges that independent scientists face when attempting to communicate with other stakeholder groups: career, culture, network, speaking out, competition, process, misinformation, legal, impact, teamwork. At first glance, such an analysis may not seem groundbreaking to established science communicators. However, there is real value in seeing how these challenges continue to confound even the most experienced researchers, responders, and journalists in the heat of the moment.
