ABSTRACT

This chapter is an in-depth analysis of the functioning of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic in the twenty-first century. The author began the research by presenting these entities’ statehood attributes and the most important strategic documents. Then the most significant aspects of the Donbas republics’ relations with Russia were presented. Finally, the US’ and the EU's involvement in de-escalating the region's situation was presented.
