Oedipus

Being an unwanted child;

Being an overly wanted child whose mother won’t give him up;

Being rejected and how being rejected can be a pretty good solution;

Being wanted, but not too much, so that one can move on from one’s relationship with Mom;

The myth of Oedipus is a metaphor for the possible outcomes of being born into the desire of the parent. The inevitable tragedy for mothers is that the more they do their job right, the more the child will turn toward the father and off to the world.
