ABSTRACT

CBT-E is readily adapted for teletherapy. The patient and therapist can easily talk remotely via online video-calls. Delivering CBT-E remotely is possible using various video-calling platforms. Remote therapy has clear advantages. CBT-E emphasises the importance of working on specific tasks between sessions to bring about change. As in face-to-face CBT-E, in the preparation sessions, our therapist will describe the treatment in detail and seek to actively involve us. In face-to-face CBT-E, the therapist draws the formulation diagram on paper. During in-person sessions, the therapist explains and gives us copies of blank self-monitoring records. Distance CBT-E uses the same review sessions, strategies and procedures as standard CBT-E.
