ABSTRACT

There is an inevitable relationship between values and emotions that leaders need to be aware of in dealing with organizational concerns such as culture change and sustainability issues. In this chapter, we discuss the relationships between values and emotions. Emotions can be drivers of values-based actions or establish hindrances to acting. Values are made meaningful through emotions, and emotions are founded on values. By using coaching questions, leaders can get to know the emotions and values evolving in relationships and motivate others and themselves.
