ABSTRACT

The main idea in Scandinavian values-based leadership literature is that values work and values-in-practice are embedded parts of organizational activities. This book builds on the Scandinavian tradition and deepens the performative aspects of values work and the work leaders do to identify and interpret values-in-practice to embody organizational purposes. This is done by identifying values at stake; how values guide past, present, and future activities; and the mechanisms of how values drive organizational practice. Values practices are often connected to the moral work of what right or wrong and good or bad actions are in organizations.
