ABSTRACT

Choosing where to study your Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development qualification is a key factor in your successful completion of the programme. Modes of study are increasingly flexible, allowing learners to balance their work and life through face-to-face sessions, live online, a mixture of both and fully online programmes. The degree of flexibility you are seeking will have a significant impact on where you study. Universities and further education institutions tend to follow traditional modes of study, with attendance in person one day a week. Private study centres offer evening, weekend and daytime classes in person, live online and fully digital. However, not all programmes are designed equally, and the level of support beyond the programme might be a key factor in your decision-making. This chapter explores how to choose where to study with a focus on the mode of delivery, costs, programme structure, flexibility, geography, level of support and learning preferences.
