ABSTRACT

Continuing professional development (CPD) refers to the process of reflection and action to support learning and growth. It is a core aspect of being a people professional, and it is integral to CIPD membership and progression. This chapter outlines the core concept of CPD, what it requires, the benefits and how you might go about it using a range of processes and targets and using the human resources profession map as a framework for development. It introduces learning and development activities and reflective models for aiding reflective thinking to aid CPD.
