ABSTRACT
This chapter describes basic concepts and principles of multistage testing (MST) related to test structure, routing rules, scoring, equating, and test assembly. After a general overview of the MST, its application in the context of classical D-scoring (DSM-C), referred to as MST-D, is described and illustrated.
