ABSTRACT
There are two rhyme group systems in the old Chinese language. The chapter introduces the first rhyme group system of the old Chinese language. Beginning with sources for the division of ancient finals, the chapter then describes the classification of ancient finals, namely, 30 groups of the ancient Chinese finals before the Qin dynasty.
