ABSTRACT

In this volume, I attempt to draw out some dominant themes by looking at abortion rights globally, as abortion is representative of struggle in many spaces. What are legitimate claims for abortion, and who decides this? How is this determined socio-culturally, and how do they differ across regions? This study looks at these questions in detail in specific regional and national contexts and attempts to draw out these determinants and analyse them. In this volume, I look at discourses around abortion in the United States of America, Korea, China, Poland, Argentina, Ireland, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, and New Zealand.
