ABSTRACT

In the 21st century, we see a concerning trend of individuals sharing many posts, videos, photos, and audio clips. This activity is prevalent among people of all ages, including learners. However, the question arises: Are people reflecting on the content they are sharing and the situations and events depicted in it to learn valuable lessons for life? Unfortunately, the answer is likely no. Education systems are expected to produce learners who collect facts and content and reflect on them to gain valuable learning lessons. In other words, teachers are supposed to help learners gain mastery of reflective learning. Reflective learning is a crucial process that enables learners to understand their experiences better and improve their future performance. This chapter aims to help teachers understand what reflective learning is, why it is significant, and how it benefits learners. The chapter further guides teachers on engaging learners in such learning, what techniques to follow to make classrooms conducive for reflective learning, and what precautions to take while engaging learners in reflective learning.
