ABSTRACT

The earlier notions of learning as a subject- or discipline specific-activity are changing. Now educational institutions are asked to embrace holistic learning that helps learners activate their intellect, emotions, imagination, and body. Now the onus is on teachers to bring holistic education into their classrooms. As a fact, learning outcomes positively correlate with the lessons delivered by teachers. If lessons are planned creatively and executed correctly, there is every chance for learning to be holistic. Therefore, teachers must learn how to plan and deliver lessons to promote holistic learning. This chapter helps teachers learn different tricks and techniques for planning lessons for holistic learning. The chapter details the role of lessons in learning, ways of introducing the lessons, planning creative and activity-oriented introductions of lessons, and using lessons for holistic learning.
