ABSTRACT

This chapter considers three major perspectives for the case: the concepts or techniques that need to be deployed, the analytical opportunities presented by the class, and the manner with which the data and the details are presented within the case narrative. These three combined determine the difficulty or complexity of the case. Often, there is more than one viable approach or response to the case situation, so this chapter explores the skills needed to argue the adequacy of a student’s own analysis and the evaluation of each component of their case. This chapter includes a full case study followed by a full breakdown of approaches that can be taken to analyse the case.
