ABSTRACT
This epilogue examines texts that cross the boundaries of autobiography strictly defined. By using a range of aesthetics and conventions, these texts – which belong to the genres of family saga and (auto)pathography – highlight the hybridity of autobiography. A selection of family sagas sheds light on the aesthetic conventions and models in recent Polish stories about the family – conventions and models that are undergoing transformations due to shifts in customs, as well as audience strategies.
