ABSTRACT

Because many living organisms carry out some form of learning, the processes involved seem to be generally taken for granted. In very many cases learning is taken to mean repetition and memorisation. Learning is a much more complicated process. Almost every living animal performs some meaningful actions throughout its life. Learning involves the numerous different processes an organism or an individual goes through to acquire a skill which becomes evident in a change in the organism's or individual's behaviour. In the learning process, painful stimuli draw out unpleasant or objectionable responses from learners and in some cases, extinction takes place, that is, the learner tries to put out of his way anything that will make him react unpleasantly. In the learning process, much depends on the learner's physical condition.
