ABSTRACT
The reader will have noted that I repeat myself often in this work. My rationale for doing so is that Bion did so himself in his writings—but he repeated himself in different contexts each time, and so do I. Lacan (1966), in addressing the problem of the repetition compulsion, stated that in every session the patient repeats himself— differently! “Become” is such a profound and important component of Bion’s episteme that I could do no less than give it a separate treatment.
