ABSTRACT

This final chapter brings forward a study by McKinsey, “The Economic State of Latinos in America. The American Dream Deferred.” The report focuses on four key areas associated with the Hispanic segment’s economic activity: Hispanics as workers, business owners, consumers, and business investors. The outcome? In all four analysis segments, the Hispanic segment demonstrates its continuous growth. However, the study also reports an existing economic gap in all four areas, negatively impacting the Hispanic community and undermining the country’s economic growth.

The author discusses with one of the study’s authors, Lucy Perez, the reasons behind the study being conducted and how she and her colleagues interpret the study’s findings.
