ABSTRACT
The Afterword touches on particular points that need emphasis (or reemphasis) and goes on to suggest areas that are worthy of exploration in a subsequent volume. This work strives for an interdisciplinary integration of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy with Existentialism and Phenomenology. It offers a radical discussion of the new science of Evo-Devo, Paleoanthropology, and Postphenomenology, leading to discussions of the Internet and the Metaverse. It examines COVID as a social disease in addition to being a viral one.
There is more to be said about Social Network Theory and the accompanying behavior of Superorganisms. It will also be necessary to explore the radical impossibility of separating the therapeutic couple from the Mitwelts and Umwelts in which they are emersed and, as clinicians, it is best that we stop trying. This has relevance to Therapeutic Action. The internet, social media, and the metaverse they make possible are now in exponential states of flux and will look very different in the next volume compared to here in the present one. The nature of the realities in which we live and the external worlds they link us to must also be considered. In short, there remains much more still to do.
