Introduction

This chapter explores the key livelihood and governance challenges the urban poor in the cities of Global South experience. It begins by reviewing the literature on livelihoods and governance in Global South cities. Following this, this chapter provides an overview on poverty, space, spatial justice and SDGs to set the broader conceptual structure of the book.
