ABSTRACT
Green revisits the notion of countertransference starting with a critical overview and appraisal of various contributions on the topic, and its relationship to analytic technique, by authors of the North American “inter-subjective school”. He then links these themes with the “axiomatic” theoretical ground that each current or school of thought implies. Finally, he proposes three different types of countertransference and discusses their use in the clinical situation.
