ABSTRACT
The chapter covers practical questions such as classroom organisation, lesson planning, and classroom management. It briefly considers collaboration with colleagues before looking at how teachers can understand their students. This includes differences of motivation, intelligence, roles and relationships in the classroom, one-to-one teaching, identity, translanguaging, and the class as a community. It then looks at presentation modes, approaches to teaching the different language features (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation), and giving feedback on errors.
