ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the basic ideas of EDM are presented, followed by an introduction to the dynamic model of educational effectiveness. Accordingly, the student-level factors, classroom-level factors, school-level factors, and country-level factors of digital reading performance are carefully reviewed. Previous studies about the application of EDM approaches to analyze large-scale educational data are also presented.
