ABSTRACT
The principles to have emerged to guide a new era in the teaching of landscape history are composed into a 20-point manifesto. It is organised under a number of headings: the definition of landscape history, the value of history to understanding the landscape, charters, ethical considerations and the teacher’s duty to the students.
