ABSTRACT

As in most areas of life, new technology expands the possibilities. The new or new-ish technologies that can have most bearing on the teaching of landscape history seem to be virtual reality, global online video sharing and online historical resources. In each case, actual examples are described. This technology has affected teaching, for example in blended teaching, podcasts and virtual learning environments, and also research as catalogues and much other material can be found online. The chapter ends with a paper on an experimental series of online lectures provided by the organiser from The Gardens Trust during Covid-19 times in the UK. The possibilities of increasing shared online resources are then discussed, and the example of the continuing education services provided by the American Society of Landscape Architects is mentioned.
