ABSTRACT
In this section, a brief summary of the issue of Animal Welfare is pointed out. By problematising the term animal welfare, this section elucidates what the term Animal Poverty means and why we need it in order to base one of the Marxist theoretical frameworks for the issue. This part also elucidates a historical background of the animal issue which enables readers to understand current arguments put forward by theoreticians. By doing this, this section briefly makes a short relationship among capitalism, animal issue and the importance of Karl Marx in order to depict a general theoretical framework for analysing the arguments put forward throughout the book.
