ABSTRACT

Chapter 6 provides a review of the developmental characteristics from birth to two years of age, preschool children three to five years, and school-age children of six to eight years. The focus on and reinforcement of social emotional learning is highlighted. An analysis and overview of the case studies with advanced children that are shared throughout the chapters shine a light on the various strategies that support social emotional learning. Recognition of the importance of social emotional learning and developmental strategies are critical to the development of young advanced learners.
