ABSTRACT
This chapter lays the foundations for the book by acknowledging that work is very much a part of our identity and that this makes it even more important that we are able to find work and a career that give us purpose and fulfilment. It also looks at the different stages in a woman’s career so that we can begin our journey through the book with an awareness of what these stages are and where we currently sit and want to get to. The chapter finishes by highlighting that cultivating this awareness allows us to become much more awake and intentional about the decisions we make as we navigate the different stages in our career paths.
