ABSTRACT

While mixing roles and responsibilities are common in film post-production the same kinds of specialist roles are not prevalent in video games. This is mainly due to the fact that the work of most audio designers at the low level encompasses some form of mixing work when sound is being integrated. The need for specialist mixers who own the mix of a game is becoming more and more critical in order to prevent game mixes from reaching the end of production with little to no plan or approach for the mix of a game. In this chapter, some of those roles and responsibilities are explored.
