ABSTRACT
We present below a selection of sci-fi movies, anime, and graphic novels that are considered “must-see,” that we are particularly fond of and that have a special relationship with dreams. Indeed, the plots of many sci-fi movies, anime and graphic novels deal directly with dreams. However, all the images of which they are made (the evocative, dreamy scenic designs, the landscapes, the unrealistic scenes in the movies as well as in the graphic novels) possess the same evocative power as dreams. The plots of many, in fact, deal directly with them but the imagery of which they are all composed have the same evocative power as dreams. The dreams of the films we present, in fact, no longer belong to the individual, but have been “hacked” to become collective cultural heritage. It is in the name of such universality that they absolutely must be known and enjoyed.
