ABSTRACT
Human memory cannot be considered as a passive recording of events. The memorandum is often self-manipulated, with the onset of partially or totally untrue false memories, sometimes producing a self-deception process. In addition, the chapter faces the problem of distinguishing a false memory from simulation, psychiatric disorders such as Ganser Syndrome, approximate answers, and Munchausen Syndrome.
