ABSTRACT

One of the main challenges in pursuing truth is that it can never be fully attained or grasped. It is unknowable, says Bion, who refers to truth as the perfect fact that can never be fully known. However, there is a core of reality in every moment that people can search for together: how something is perceived and appears right now. That is the closest they can get to the phenomenon of truth. Directing attention to the truth is about doing what is helpful, in the moment, for getting the most precise understanding possible of the truth in the moment. That takes focus and energy, because the truth is always in motion, always new. When the group attains new insights by examining, being curious and activating its combined resources and collective emotional intelligence, the result is often a boost of energy.
