ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author never intended to be working on the distribution side of film/TV industry. But now, after nearly two decades of brokering distribution deals with some of the biggest companies in the business, he couldn’t dream of a more fulfilling career. In Introduction to Media Distribution, the author have taken two decades’ worth of global film, television, and new media distribution experience and have broken down all of the major questions constantly asked by college professors, novice producers and even industry veterans into digestible and relatable terms. Whether the people are working to become a content creator—or are the instructor of future content creators—having a firm grasp of how and why the distribution business operates in the manner it does is a crucial first step toward securing future success.
