ABSTRACT

A useful image for this is to imagine a cat looking in the mirror. If it was an unhealthy narcissist, it would see a lion in midst of either feeble or furiously threatening animals. The healthy narcissist on the other hand would see a fit, alert and generally capable cat surrounded by all types of creatures, typically minding their own business. Take a moment to decide for yourself if the leaders that you would call narcissistic actually behave as defined by the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Compendiums, which is the worldwide standard reference for mental disorders. On the other hand, it is no wonder then that many people have observed a decrease in narcissism during the Covid-19 crisis. While the health systems are strained and millions all over the world are clearly suffering, narcissism becomes less accepted socially and is as a result less practiced.
