ABSTRACT

Environmental conditions are a current and important determinant of sustainable development, which is a guarantee of a good quality of life; therefore, this issue is discussed in this chapter. It is analyzed in three dimensions. The first relates to the perception of environmental problems in selected cities in Central and Eastern Europe. The second relates to the statistical perspective of environmental and climate protection in Polish provincial cities. The third relates to the evaluation of environmental aspects in the context of surveys conducted among strategic representatives of 287 Polish cities. This chapter closes with conclusions on environmental quality and care in cities operating in developing economies.
