Introduction

This Introduction sets out the main themes of this book on education in the future, the issues involved and, at least for the UK, a possible solution to what is becoming an intense international debate. This debate is being led by such global think tanks as the OECD, WEF and UNESCO and it is now emerging as a prominent feature in the forthcoming British General Election; one where the current British Prime Minister Rushi Sunak has now declared, that in his view, education is Britain’s “silver bullet” in the century ahead.
