ABSTRACT

From the birth of a baby to approximately eighteen months of age, the relationship between the child and their parents is relatively simple. The child needs food, rest and a great deal of affection. This is something that most parents can understand perfectly. However, as the child begins to move about, say a few words, and express their wishes, parents and children enter a somewhat more complex stage as far as their relationship is concerned. In order for parents to understand and therefore show patience and compassion on a daily basis, we are going to look at three common situations that they will be able to deal with in a different way once they understand what is happening inside their young child’s brain. One situation that all parents (and children) have to experience at some point, are tantrums. Tantrums are a universal phenomenon that happen to all (or nearly all) children, from all countries and cultures of the world.
