ABSTRACT

Limits have always been a controversial issue in education. All over the world there are educational trends and parents who are determined to reduce limits and rules to the bare minimum. The first ones to disagree with establishing limits in the educational process are the children themselves. Some parents insist on stigmatising the establishment of limits without realising that, by consenting to the child in every situation, it is incongruous. Parents also have to set limits on their own needs and desires so that their child can experience life’s standard limits. Many parents do not realise that limits are part of the child’s life from the moment they are born, and it is important that they get used to them gradually. The time for the parent to have to set limits on the child is usually when the baby begins to move around more.
