ABSTRACT

The most influential of all educational factors is the conversation in a child’s home. Good communication is what allows two people to connect with each other. In the communication that takes place between parents and children, good communication is what helps the child to connect ideas, emotions and thinking styles. Cooperative communication is not an infallible technique – there is always the possibility that the child does not want to collaborate – but this style of communication greatly promotes the child’s collaboration with the adult. The effectiveness of cooperative communication lies in asking the child to collaborate in turning tasks into teamwork. The second advantage of cooperative communication is that when the child understands that the adult is asking for collaboration, the probability of a positive response increases. Different communication styles can provide better or worse results when it comes to getting a child to collaborate with an adult.
