ABSTRACT

The emotional brain has an undeniable importance in the child, who functions in terms of excitement, anger, desire and fear. Understanding their emotions and learning how to access them and how to support their emotional development is therefore highly advantageous for those parents who know how to do it. If there is one concept to have transcended the realm of psychology and entered into our everyday lives over the last decades, it is that every human being is equipped with emotional intelligence, in addition to a formal or rational intelligence. One of the main contributions of emotional intelligence has been to place value on people’s feelings and emotions. Experiencing wellbeing is finally now seen as a sign of intelligence, which is just as important as being able to solve a complex mathematical problem.
