ABSTRACT

For a human being, whose offspring take about a year to take their first steps – and in some cases forty until they leave their parents’ house – watching this performance can be fascinating. The newborn human being’s need for protection is absolute. No other mammal needs as much protection as the human baby. This means that in the minds of many parents, their child is a fragile and dependent being. For the human being, reaching its potential carries connotations that imply a greater evolution than that of plants or animals, although the principle of development is the same. Finally, just as the branches of the tree stretch to reach the sun’s rays, the child’s brain naturally seeks stimuli that allow them to explore, play, experience and discover the world of objects and people who surround them, in search of their full development.
