ABSTRACT

One of the fundamental pillars that every parent or educator must have in mind when educating their children is balance. Buddhists call this balance “middle way,” and according to them, it is a way to achieve wisdom. Most parents want two things for their children: for them to be happy and for them to be able to fend for themselves. In many cases, they put great effort into their academic education, convincing themselves that a brilliant mind will open doors for them to become a happy person. With regard to education, possibly one of the most common mistakes among parents is to go to extremes. The extremes can occur in any direction, but the “fundamentalist” parent has fixed and precise ideas regarding the best way to educate their children and tends to place little value on other options and those who practise them.
