ABSTRACT

The introduction to Part III outlines the purpose and use of the year-long series of weekly letters that guide, encourage and support parents through the first year of QST. Organized into seven thematic sections, each letter is designed to be a quick read that sequentially address the kinds of questions and problems that parents commonly encounter at timely points along the way. Along with letters written by the authors, additional contributions are written by QST Master Trainers and by parents who have used QST. Mid-year and year-end evaluations provide more extensive assessment checklists and an easy to create progress chart to help parents track their own and their child’s longer-term progress. Each letter’s clear topical title, addressing a single specific behavioral or sensory issue, allows it to also be used as a reference guide. Scanning letters by thematic group and title, parents can quickly look up and get help with a specific concern anytime a relevant question or problem arises.
