ABSTRACT

All relationships have cycles that include patterns of coping for each partner. Each of us copes in an individual way that contributes to our relationship dynamic or cycle. As a result, our relationship forms its own interactional cycle over time. Unfortunately, these ways of coping that we have learned to use can create emotional disconnection. Even though we love each other, our ways of coping can hurt ourselves and each other and emotional disconnection often results. Chronic emotional disconnection wears down our relationship and frays our relationship’s bond. In this session, we will help you to identify the cycle that might have contributed to the tension, hurt or dissolution of your last relationship. We do this to help you to learn from pain, and to gain valuable knowledge about where relationships go wrong. We want you to be able to take this insight forward with you into your next big love.
