ABSTRACT

The concepts of memory, time, duration, and artists’ works will be discussed in this chapter. The developmental pedagogy and the practice-based method “A/r/tography” will be indicated as the author defines how her research process evolves and what contribution this approach can make to sustainable fashion studies and can create a connection with memory. “A/r/t/ography” indicates art and practice (A), research (R), and teaching and educational development (T) by combining the forms of visual and textual descriptions. By doing so, this method helps conduct inquiries, reveal in-between cases and concepts, use practice to enhance theory, and vice versa. For this reason, the research on the topic can be read through performative tools, case studies, field research, applications, interviews, and personal inquiries on memory, upcycling, and fashion.
