ABSTRACT

Clothing is not only used for covering but also has the feature of being an object that reflects our aesthetic values, cultural codes, experiences, wishes, and desires. The prevalence of fashion in contemporary culture speeds up the displacement of internal rhythms with fresh impressions, embodying a need for swiftness and concurrently sorting time into present and past via its aggregation in the “now.” This chapter will emphasize fashion and its system, the meanings of using ephemeral objects, the attraction of fashion, and the magic it creates. The fashion concept, the meanings, and users’ attachments and the relationship between fashion, modernity, ephemera, magic, and identity are indicated to gain a deeper understanding of fashion and clothing within this chapter.
