ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces readers to two key financial tools used to attract talent: profit participation and deferred compensation. Some of the creators who have been paid the most from profit participations are described. The chapter teaches how each acts like debt and/or equity in helping the producer finance the film, with examples connecting them to the balance sheet.
