ABSTRACT

This section focuses on establishing the relation between psychoanalysis and subjective topology as a methodology. It draws upon the work of Lacanian psychoanalysis to emphasize how subjective topology refers to the spatiality of the unconscious. Additionally, it discusses how space and the infinite are fundamental, epistemological categories in psychoanalysis. This section emphasizes that subjective topology allows for a deeper analysis of the interrelations between signifier and jouissance, which help deepen our understanding of the structure of the unconscious and how it works. The section also proposes to show that subjective topology enables us to reply to questions about sex and gender that seem to be troubling sexual difference today.
